Wu Lyf - Go Tell Fire To The Mountain

Balam Acab - Wander/Wonder [2 disc] (2011)

Such a surprising and amazing album, absolute must have best of the year shit you probably already know about. sounds like it was recorded in a cave. the kid is just 20 and went to school to be a sound engineer pitch shifted vocals break beats. the below track will sound kinda panda bear-y but nah this kid has his own established style and can really throw down some nice melodies omygodmygod -

Brian Wilson - Smile (2004)

Oh yah bud. this is the best album I've ever heard. the transitions are perfect as are the arrangements. and with that being said make sure after you listen to the below song finish it up with Song for children and Child is the father of man.. according to last fm within the first three weeks of getting this I had listened to it over 700 times -

Dustin Wong-Infinite Love (2010)

This stuff is awesome, lone guitarist, effect pedals, a drum machine and the rest is magic. The way he weaves guitar lines together is masterful. Nick, i dont know if you read this shit but you need to check this shit out, everyone does. One of the guitarists from Ponytail when they were on "hiatus".

Mo Kolours - EP1: Drum Talking (2011)

Based on drums, this project includes a variety of songs that all focus on percussion. Clearly audible throughout are the influences of soul, dub, and sega music

Broken Social Scene - The Sweetest Kill

Bradford Cox - Heatwave

Twine - Twine (2003)

Tried to find SMM Vol.1 for almost an came out in 03 and not one working link to be found. someone lemme know if you can snatch that.. The Mifune track on there is so fucking good. oh wait this one is too -

Kate Simko - Music From The Atom Smashers (2003)

soundtrack for a documentary about America's fastest particle generator lab and the physicists that work there...can't find a link

Braids - Native Speaker (2011)

This has been all over but today I realized it's full glory. female lyricist (she probably plays too but i uh never really like looking into the artists themselves just the way they actually make the this case not even doing that though blah) what seem to be letters or poems to ex's, lamets, joys. sounds like Animal Collective, Lucky Dragons, and Ghostly International type stuff. But like any really good music it's kinda difficult to really place, it's a sound of it's own...kinda. The layers, man. the layers are nice -

Airiel - WInks & Kisses: Crackled EP (2004)

God DAMN why i have I been denying yall of this awesome album. I don't ever know how to sum these ones up. one moment frantic drums cool spaced vocals and a solid wall of sound taking over your entire being, the next beach wave esque sunset chill (now wave). Quality. James Quality -

Tumblr active

It's finally up. It probably isn't a big deal to any of y'all not involved but that site and this blog moreso has been a long long time coming. I'm on a fucking phone typing this but I. Do think we need to explain our history a bit and since even though I spend an ungodly abmount of time online, it's only for practical purposes so eyes don't know shit about web design so no separate tab here. The way I was introduced to my group of friends the thing that's been at our core is humor and music, though we hardly talk about bands or albums. But the original idea for this whole thing came from the great depression of 2009 Josh nick and I were all in dark places for different reasons and the main way we were dealing with it besides constant and consistent breaking of social contract was the extension of it by writing these ridiculously crude stories. A good bit of them will be up soon. Take em or leave em. We might hav similar taste in music but our humor could be so so far apart. I'm just glad we're actually taking this into our hands somewhat rather than sitting around talking and hoping

Black Swan - Black Swan (in 8 Movements) (2009)

nice to fall alseep to, nice to live to. I wanna make an experimental film with a ton of long takes and tracking shots basically revolving around someone falling out of a plane with no hope of surviving (and they do die at the end, this much would be evident) throughout the movie between the flashbacks and laments you just knowingly watch the earth slowly slowly grow bigger as this tragedy comes to a close - buy that shit

Johann Johannsson - And In The Endless Pause There Came The Sound Of Bees (2009)

So inspiring and nice and shit. I write piano stuff then release i'm ripping this guy off but no one knows about him so i'll keep doing it -

Alice Coltrane Journey in Satchidananda (1970)

Planning for Burial - Leaving (2010)

Uhhh first off, shouts out to whoever made, and shared that's the fucking shit man, like so damn grateful we're being followed by some many people, feels good to spread this stuff. anyhow, this is album is nice, the song ill put down is super ambient but theyre primarily real heavy and posty (look up the song 'Oh Pennsylvania), i doubt this will dissipoint -

Standout tracks uhhh the entire album but broken home, small wonder and king of kings are on repeat for me

Turn this one up real loud

The Very Best - Esau Mwamawaya And Radioclit Are The Very Best (2008)

a friend gave this to me a while while back, found it on my shuffle one day, and was so glad i did. there's a bunch of covers on here but all in this electronic Malaysian style, it's crazy - (40mb seems to be a bit small for 15 tracks, lemme know if this shit isn't working out)

they've got better songs..i'm feelin too lazy right now to make an upload a video myself

Tyler, The Creator - Goblin [Deluxe Edition] (2011)

Ulrich Schnauss - A strangely isolated place (2003)

Rumskib - Rumskib (2007)

Going back to our roots, here's some shoe 'nu' gaze. whatever. it's legit. I've never had the words to describe even this genre so youre going to have to listen to the song below, you more than likely have heard of them if you were involved in this side of music for a little while, but hey, it's always going to be nice to showcase this stuff and show newbies - man i kinda wanted the last post to stay forever it really fits our layout and color scheme blahlbha

Aeon - Beta Max (2011)

About a month late on this shit, but musicblogging has kinda fell from the foreground of my life as of late (thanks for not buying my pedal nick riggins/ fuck the municipal court 240$ for backing into someone in your city, omg so srry that i inconvenienced myself and bumped up my own insurance). anyhow this shit is uh hot. reminds me of flylo from years ago, just incredibly layered, hardly content with sitting on the same pattern over and over without adding more and more sounds and effects with each turn. very relaxing. sorry that the file i found doesn't have album art or the track listing, youre going to have to do like fifteen seconds of work if youre ocd about your library like I am. track listing here - album here -

Beastie Boys: Fight For Your Right Revisited (Full Version)

This is damn incredible. I can only dream that one day I'll be making even radder shit +obvious stunt doubles and dolls.. and that one guy from that one movie

Tuesday, April 26, 2011

Teebs - Ardour (2010)

I remember this one time..or I guess few days where I spent hours trying to find his Tropics EP, and goddamn was it satisfying when I finally got it. What's even more satisfying is this damn album. fresh fresh shit right here. quite a few rehashed songs (double fifths, humming birds, etc)  from Tropics but done above and beyond, more than likely attributed not only to the experience he he had gained by the time this released but to the equipment Brainfeeder hooked him up with. dunno, listen for yourself, I of course recommend the hell out of this -

Jeremiah Jae - Vertical Pupils

The Appleseed Cast - Middle States EP (2011)

Uhh few things. turns out last post was our 100th! Kickass. haven't been updating regularly for two stupid reasons, stress and nostalgia.. pretty much only been listening to the stuff posted on here the last few weeks. but I'll always break the cycle for a name I'm familiar with or uh I would consider synonymous with quality. these guys are one of these such names - - reposting

I may like Three Rivers a bit more but i'll not have you listening to another 14 minutes song on here, especially if it ain't Jesu

Tuesday, April 19, 2011

Cass McCombs - Wit's End (2011)

Believe it or not, this guy has got some ambitions. trying to hit 3,000 views within this month, a nice leak should help that out. goddamn more people would be coming if i could only update daily, been working on shit of my own..i'll show yall once the drums and tremolo picking are put on.. hahah rambling, anyhow -

Monday, April 18, 2011

Gravediggaz - 6 Feet Deep (1997)

lol i forgot where i got this, think i had been following a trail of links while in a rap mood back when i had first found out about Odd Future. drove down to the kinda country on a foggy day while blasting this to go to film class, was very pleasantly surprised -

Growing - Lateral (2008)

mannn, the times i've had with this album and Vision Swim, it really contains it's own experience within - the song first contact is a personal favorite but posting it here, and it being the first song you hear would completely take away from how it arrives

Loscil - Untitlied (2010)

Dude put this up on his bandcamp not so long ago.. it's uh course, pretty awesome -

Ólafur Arnalds - Eulogy for Evolution (2007)

Icelandic, minimalist, (kinda post rocky) compositions. you've probably got some of his newer stuff but this is the first album, and just as good, have some productive fun -

Volcano Choir - Unmap (2008)

You, uh, probably already know about this.. dude from Bon Iver blablah way more on the electronic side -

Fire On Fire - The Orchard (2008)

Oh man where have I been -

A Silver Mount Zion - The Triumph of Our Tired Eyes

Tuesday, April 12, 2011

Airspace Falling - Written in Waters (2011)

This asshole needs to stick to graphic design haha nah, I like it. Really nice minimal droney churn here. Can vibe with this a ton, reminds me of a lot of the slower jams I try to make when I'm by myself. Attention drawn to laying in the blankets of sound being produced with each note and chord. Have to say I especially like track 3 'Landmark Charred'. As before I'd suggest just going to his Bandcamp and working your way towards that track that the one afterwards where it all explodes. "Shake your ass, thank me later" - Based God

Ghost Mountain - ? (2010?)

The above isn't the album art, just some picture i took in the city a few weeks ago. Man idk on this one, zune shuffle is weird, you know what i'm talking about if you have one.. so i'm driving around listening to Black Moth, Boards, and like Caribou and this comes up out of nowhere. don't know when or where I got it. can't find anything about it online. but it's alright, reminds me a lot of BMSR it has a few...every track that has that rapper dude on it, I'd rather he wasn't but the beats and sounds behind it sound real nice so I just zone him out. then again I don't really like Yoni Wolf so I could be biased. Also a bunch of the other songs don't all sound like the one below, a few are ambientish.. anyhow -

The World is a Beautiful Place & I am No Longer Afraid to Die - Formlessness EP (2010)

Straight up one of the lamest band names since Casiotone For The Painfully Alone,
but a pretty stellar and brief post-rock influenced Northeast emo EP.

Trouble Books - The United Colors of Trouble Books (2009)

Warm ambient pop, sincere and comfortable.
Was told it was "like Mount Eerie with electronics",
it's not like that all. But it's good.

Power Animal - People Songs (2010)

Organic experimental voice sample bedroom.
But mainly interesting pop.
